Annouchka Brochet is a Russian artist.
Educations

She graduated from the State Institute for Book Design as a graphic artist.
For the last 17 years she actively took part with her paintings, light boxes and ceramic installations to the main events in Russia such as the Moscow Biennale (Special and Parallel programs 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015), “The Future depends on you. New Rules” (exhibition held in 8 museums in 8 Russia’s cities), “International Woman’s Day. Feminism from the Avant-Garde until Now”, 2012, “Decoration of the Beautiful. Elitism and Kitsch in Contemporary Art”, 2013. In 2014 she was one of eight artists from Russia invited to the special project of The International Biennial of Vallauris – Creation and Ceramic, (Vallauris, France). In 2015 she won the special price of the Jury at the 8th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, South Korea with her ceramic-video installation Last Dream. In 2017 participated to the 9th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, South Korea with two ceramic installations (Year 2338 and Amnesia 2). In January 2020 she attended the project Connection at the Hong Kong Cultural Center and in 2021 exhibited in the Vantaa Art Museum Artsi, Finland. In 2021-22 the artist actively develops the theme of collaboration of contemporary art and traditional folk crafts, the influence of archaic manual techniques on consciousness and definition of identity today. She did a big project as curator and artist in the Republic of Komi, “Collaboration” – a special project for the 1st Komi Biennale of Contemporary Art and for the Russian Museum of Ethnography, in St. Petersburg. Since 2019 Annouchka Brochet is a member of the European Academy of Ceramics AIC.
She produces ceramics, installations using ceramics and videos, also using old ceramics as ready-mades. She also do paintings (oil on canvas), paintings on glass and Plexiglas, light boxes, installations with Plexiglas and shadows, and works on mirrors. Annouchka concentrates her works mainly on the Cult of Beauty, the consumption ideology, and the position of women in society and art. Her feminist position is quite unique in the Russian scene.
She lives and works in Moscow.
