Konstantin Batynkov was born in 1959 in Sevastopol, his family moved to Moscow in the same year. The artist works in different media with equal success, mainly in painting and graphics. In 2003, his works were awarded the 2nd prize, and in 2005 – the Grand Prix of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale. In 2015, Konstantin Batynkov became an Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Batynkov’s works are in prestigious collections such as the State Tretyakov Gallery, MMOMA, the National Centre for Contemporary Art (NCCA), the “Ekaterina” Cultural Foundation (all are in Moscow), the Novy Museum (St. Petersburg), as well as in a number of Russia’s regional museums. He has participated in many exhibitions, and in 2009 Konstantin Batynkov had a solo retrospective at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and in 2016 the large-scale exhibition “Views” was held at the Museum of Moscow, organised with the assistance of the pop/off/art and Krokin galleries. He lives and works in Moscow.
