Roman Manikhin was born in 1977 in Moscow. In 2008 he graduated from the Moscow State Art University named after S.G. Stroganov, faculty of Communicative Design. He is working with painting, printed graphics, volumetric installations. In 2011 he was accepted in the Moscow Union of Artists in the poster section. Since 2013 he is working as a teacher of the Campus educational project of Dmitry Barbanel. Since 2005 he has been working with magazine illustration, cooperating with large publishing houses. One of the expressive lines in the artist’s work is female sexuality. The artist often touches marginal manifestations of sexuality, revealing the breadth and variability of the topic, and also ironically touches the topic of fetishism of sex, relying on Freudian symbolism.
His works are held in the Art4 museum and in private collections in Russia, Italy, Turkey, Denmark and the USA.
