Ivan Tuzov is a contemporary Russian artist, born in Leningrad in 1984. From 2003 to 2009 he studied at the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen, at the faculty of Fine Arts. From 2012 to 2013 he participated in the “School for Young Artists” program, created with the support of the PRO ARTE Fund.

In his new watercolors series, Ivan explores the interaction of spots and lines. The author is interested in the exact moment of doubling the line of the pencil and its contrast with the contrast-wide line of the brush. Copying a line doubles the trail, but does not double the creation time. Doubling, trebling is a frequent principle of building modern culture, the spirit of the era, copy-and-paste is the principle of digital images, shadows from diode lamps.

Ivan Tuzov was part of one-man exhibitions like: “Why do we visit exhibitions” at the Multimedia Art Museum, “Remember tomorrow” at the Street Art Museum, “Layers” at the Triangle Gallery at Wine factory, as well as in some other group exhibitions. The artist’s works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.
