Victoria Predybailo has been engaged in ceramics for almost 10 years. The author refers to ceramics precisely as an art in which one can express oneself as an artist and creator. She studied at the Gaya Ceramic Center (Bali Island), attended master classes by Frances Marsden (Toulouse, France). Practical skills were acquired in the production of Klinskaya Ceramics (Klin).

In 2017, a new stage of development began for Victoria in the studio 4 Hearts (Moscow) and a set of regular master classes, a program of classes and philosophy of approach, basically, she defined for herself such a concept as intuitive ceramics.

Since 2017, she has participated in all different exhibitions and competitions, and in 2018 – a visit and independent work in the art residence of Skopelos Art, Greece and participation in an exhibition of residents with the final works on the study of female archetypes in ancient Greek mythology and psychology.

In 2019 she completed the intensive course “Contemporary Ceramics and Art in Ceramics”, British Higher School of Art and Design.

The author wants to devote the next stage of his creativity to the study of the perception of form in the modern world, the study of archetypal forms, the psychology of creativity and self-expression in modeling, thereby developing the theoretical foundations for the concept of Intuitive ceramics.

All works of the last period were made according to this method, when the accumulated inner experience is expressed in ceramics, when it is not aesthetics that is important, but inner motivation and emotion. All works were done spontaneously, with the preservation of “vibration” and “unevenness”, which emphasizes the nature of the material itself – clay.

Movement and dance also had a major effect on creativity, a sense of line, rhythm, dynamics, pulsation – all these principles are the basis for inspiration and getting started. The hand of the ceramist feels the material, but the sense of line and rhythm continues the theme and completes the object.

The fingerprint line is very important to the author, a wavy line, irregular and curved, outside the urban aesthetics of alienation and calculation. Basically, sculpting takes no more than 45 minutes. The hands are completely subject to inner rhythm and feeling.

Also, the main credo is completely hand sculpting, tools and stacks are used very rarely.

In 2019, she held an art laboratory at the ZIL cultural center “Dancing Clay”, the main topic was the study of the connection between man and clay, the study of ancient rituals with clay, the search for “connection with the earth”, the term “grounding” and the creation of a collective installation were investigated.

In 2020, a residence in Portugal is planned, dedicated to the study of the topic “Shadow” and the creation of a ceramic pixel object.
