For 9 years he experimented with methods of shaping and the work of form with space. Now he has found the subject of main research – this is the inflation of metal objects (Hydroforming). Revealing its features, applying to both abstract and classical form. It is possible to create large self-supporting (without frame) objects of unlimited size by creating blown metal modules. Modularity allows you to work with any space.
Vilgenius explores the kinesthetic way of perceiving form.
Objects created in this way (inflating metal) have a number of features:
– the shape can be controlled by 85%, the remaining 25 is the work of the metal’s yield point;
– creation of the maximum possible stress in the form and its release, through complete instant relaxation, its release through the residual deformation of the metal according to the laws of nature;
– objects are perceived by the viewer as if they were made of a soft, weightless material, metal is seen only when the sculpture is touched;
– when combining the peculiarity of deformation and the specificity of the form, one of the posed problem is revealed.
A sensory way of conveying specific sensory experiences through a form without using a verbal description of the object. Verbal description can only enhance the effect. I pay special attention to the work of form with space. Revealing its individual characteristics.
